This is a VMware VM release from The Canned OS Project.
PCLinuxOS is #7 on Distrowatch.com. PCLinuxOS is based on Mandrake Linux and uses apt-get as its package manager. It's really slick! The MiniMe edition is a bare desktop, so it's perfect for distribution as a VM.

I hope that somehow this distro can be downloadable through some other method than Torrent, which takes hours to download what through normal downloads takes much much less.
I realise that hosting and enabling downloads can be a problem sometimes, but if a public server could be found to handle this it would be a great help.

I totally agree. Having a place to host direct downloads would be great. That said, if torrents are well seeded , speeds can potentially be very fast, and the more popular the torrent, the better the performance. For those downloading the torrents, please continue to seed as long as you can.
I have a PCLinuxOS 0.93 BigDaddy VM, that I can create a torrent for. Speak up, if you want me to do that.

I would be downloading from behind a firewall where torrents are not allowed.

Thanks for your interest. I'd like to help you out, but I do not have the resources, at this time, to provide a direct download for the PCLinuxOS BigDaddy VM. Sorry about the inconvenience.
rxhui - FYI I will be removing shortly the torrent for 0.93a MiniMe VM at the LinuxTracker for 0.93a MiniMe VM
It is way past its life span now (almost all 0.93/2004 repositories have gone now) and Texstar would like people to move on and use PCLinuxOS-2007
